The Gentle Start Program

In-Home Support for Families in the First Three Years

You’re not meant to do this alone. The early years of parenting are filled with love, growth, and wonder—but they can also bring exhaustion, isolation, and overwhelm.

Whether you're recovering from birth, adjusting to life with a newborn, navigating toddler meltdowns, or feeling disconnected in your relationship, support can make all the difference.

Gentle Start offers warm, expert, in-home care for you and your family during the most intense and transformative years of early parenthood. This is not just baby care. This is whole-family care.

The first three years are foundational for your child’s brain development, attachment patterns, and emotional resilience. But they are also deeply formative for you—in your identity, your nervous system, your relationships, and your emotional well-being.Yet many Toronto families move through this time alone, facing postpartum depression, relationship strain, toddler challenges, and burnout with minimal support.

Gentle Start  is a flexible, trauma-informed, and attachment-based program designed for any family with a child between 0 and 3. Whether you’re a first-time parent, welcoming a sibling, navigating emotional overwhelm, or simply stretched too thin—we meet you exactly where you are.

We offer emotional and practical support to help you feel held and resourced, alongside developmental and attachment-based care for your baby or toddler. Our approach includes relationship support designed to help your family thrive—not just survive—and a safe, nonjudgmental space where your feelings, values, and questions are fully welcomed. You'll receive tools to help you respond with intention rather than react from overwhelm, all within a trauma-informed framework that reduces shame, prevents crisis, and fosters lasting connection.

Land Aknowledgement

I live and practice on the traditional territory of many nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishinaabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples, in what is traditionally called Tkaronto, covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit. I honour the enduring presence, stewardship, and sovereignty of Indigenous peoples on these lands.

With deep gratitude to the First Peoples and their wisdom, I acknowledge both the ongoing impacts of colonization and the harms that the fields of social work and mental health have caused—and continue to cause—to Indigenous communities.

As a settler and uninvited guest, I take responsibility for continually learning, unlearning, and repairing. I commit to practicing in solidarity with Indigenous peoples, supporting justice, healing, and land back, and working toward relationships rooted in accountability and respect.
