The Junction Triangle Collective

Here for you at a junction in life

— when life feels like its heading off the rails.

Welcome to a warm, grounded therapy space where real connection—and a little humor—come first. This is a place designed for individuals, parents, couples, and families across all ages and life stages to explore what’s unfolding in their lives with support, clarity, and care. Sessions often include somatic therapy, gentle body-based awareness, and parts-work, helping you reconnect with yourself in ways that feel compassionate and empowering. Rooted in inclusion and liberation-focused practice, the space invites your whole self—your stories, identities, histories, and hopes—to be held with respect. In addition to therapy, I offer supervision for therapists, educational opportunities, and tailored workshops for organizations and community groups.

About Me

Hi, I’m Catherine Kates (Cat) — therapist, yoga teacher, psychedelic guide, social worker (MSW), proud mom, settler, cancer survivor, neurospicy human, and devoted lover of people and animals. My work is grounded in warmth, curiosity, and a deep belief in people’s capacity to heal when they feel truly seen. I support clients of all ages, as well as the younger inner parts of ourselves that still carry old fears, survival strategies, and unmet needs. My style is gentle, embodied, relational, and sometimes a little funny—because healing can hold lightness, too. As a white, cisgender settler therapist, I approach this work with humility, accountability, and a willingness to engage in conversations about power, identity, race, gender, grief, and the systems that shape our lives. My goal is to help you feel more at home in yourself, especially when life feels messy, overwhelming, or in transition.

family love

Gentle Start provides warm, expert, in-home support for families during the most intense and transformative early years of parenthood. This isn’t just baby care—it’s whole-family care. Whether you’re a first-time parent, welcoming a sibling, navigating overwhelm, or simply stretched too thin, we meet you exactly where you are.

tea

Tuesdays 6–7 PM • $25

With third spaces disappearing, it’s harder than ever to find places to simply be. Spill the Tea offers a cozy, calm weekly gathering where you can unwind, make a little art, drink warm tea, and connect with good humans. No pressure, no performance — just space to breathe, create, and belong.

making a good plan

I help parents, co-parents, and chosen families develop clear, practical, and child-centered parenting plans that put kids first and reduces conflict. Together, we can create agreements that are developmentally informed, and help your family navigate unexpected changes with clarity and ease. Let’s create a plan that truly fits your family, not the other way around.

Land Aknowledgement

I live and practice on the traditional territory of many nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishinaabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples, in what is traditionally called Tkaronto, covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit. I honour the enduring presence, stewardship, and sovereignty of Indigenous peoples on these lands.

With deep gratitude to the First Peoples and their wisdom, I acknowledge both the ongoing impacts of colonization and the harms that the fields of social work and mental health have caused—and continue to cause—to Indigenous communities.

As a settler and uninvited guest, I take responsibility for continually learning, unlearning, and repairing. I commit to practicing in solidarity with Indigenous peoples, supporting justice, healing, and land back, and working toward relationships rooted in accountability and respect.
